Eleanor Borkoski Sebastian

Eleanor B. Sebastian, 93, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at The Gardens at Sumter.

Born on April 22, 1933, in Ramsey, Ohio, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Evelyn Parkinson Borkoski. Determined and hardworking, she pursued her dream of becoming a cosmetologist and went on to own and operate Eleanor’s Hair Care Center in Cherryvale for more than 50 years. In later years, Eleanor expanded her business venture to owning the Dragon Fly Shannon Lure Co.

Eleanor found true joy in caring for her many plants, lovingly baking favorite treats for family gatherings, and playing Bingo with friends. Her heart held a deep compassion for animals.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carman Sebastian; her cherished daughter, Evelyn White; her son-in-law, Jeffrey White; her brother, Arthur Borkoski; and her sister, Sister Mary Clarence.

Eleanor is survived by her loving family: daughters Kathy Allen (Mark), Cheryl Crump, and Paula Johnson (Todd); grandchildren Bryan White (Angela), Brad White (Gabrielle), Nick White, Ryan Allen, Chris Allen, Kathryn Wilkie (Nathan), Michael Crump (Crystal), Scott Johnson, Noah Johnson, Sarah Johnson, and Hope Johnson; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters; four brothers; and many nieces and nephews. 

Eleanor will be remembered for her steadfast work ethic, her perseverance, and above all, her devotion to family. 

In accordance with Eleanor’s wishes, no formal service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne & St. Jude Parish, 1855 Beckwood Dr. Sumter, SC 29153.
