Sumter, SC….. Eric John Melber, age 83, beloved husband of 47 years to Linda Ann Myers Melber died on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Eric was born in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Franklin Ray Melber and Mildred Lucille Depew Melber. He was a devoted family man and husband. He loved cars, woodworking, and reading. He was a friend to anyone who would talk to him and beyond supportive to both friends and family. His sense of humor will be remembered most. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy.
Surviving are his sons, Scott Sines of Virginia Beach, VA, Frank Melber of Dallas, Texas, Steven Sines of Florida and Denise Bittner of Florida; his daughter Angela Crumpton and her husband William of Bluffton, SC, his sisters; Marlys Anderson of Arizona, Karen Hopkins of Maine; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and his dog Penny.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
