Sumter, SC…..Eugene Graham was the son of Reatha McFadden Graham and the late James Graham, born on May 22, 1956. He transitioned from this life to the next on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at The Gardens at Sumter Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Mr. Graham was educated in the schools of Lee County where he graduated as a part of the Mount Pleasant Hight School class of 1975. From there he entered Florence Darlington Technical College where he earned a certification as a machinist. His career took various turns where it culminated in his entrepreneurial goal of owning his own automotive repair company, C & G Automotive and Collision Center. He loved all things “cars.” You would often find him at car shows entering his prized 1985 Chevrolet S-10.
Known for his gregarious personality, witty sense of humor and high energy, Eugene earned the nickname of Motor Scooter. He loved a great time spent with friends and family and he was, indeed, the life of the party.
Mr. Graham was a sharp dresser known to wear a fresh fedora with every coordinating outfit….and no outfit was complete without his trademark golden accents.
In addition to his loving mother, Eugene leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Natalie Drake of Charlotte, NC and Dr. Stephanie Wise (Bryant) of Lexington, SC; two sons, Christopher “Adam” Rouse of Midland, TX and Eugene L. Graham of Columbia, SC; Four grandsons, Christopher Rouse, Christian Rouse, Jaiden Graham and Isaiah Wise; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Wise; one great grandson, Cyrus Rouse; two sisters, Rutha M. Jackson (Carl) and Carolyn Anderson (Aaron); three brothers, Leverne “Pete” Graham (Everline), Carl Graham (Cheryl), and Billy Graham (Inger); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves a special friend, Bertha Bradley.
Eugene was predeceased by his father, James and three brothers, Charlie Grham, Ivory Graham and Johnny Otis Graham.
