Evelyne Huisse Williams, 88, wife of the late Clark Howell Williams, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at her daughters’ home in Dalzell, South Carolina.
Born November 24, 1937, in Compiegne, France, she was the daughter of the late Georgés Huisse and the late Paulette Blondel Huisse. Mrs. Williams, affectionately known as “Meme,” was always proud to be a French lady who came to the United States and learned the English language by watching television. She went on to serve as a Squadron Group Commander’s Secretary for 38 years and retired from Shaw AFB in 2011.
At home, Mrs. Williams took great pride in caring for the exterior of her home and was rarely one to sit still. She always had several dogs and cats that she loved dearly. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, sharing her talents generously with family and friends.
Mrs. Williams is now reunited with her sons, the late Stephen Ray Williams and the late Matthew Gregory Williams.
Survivors are one daughter, Cynthia Ellen Tickel (Larry Tickel) of Dalzell; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren: Robert Clark Tickel (Sarah Hutchinson Tickel, Marlee Love Tickel, Jillianna Victoria Mays, Golda Fráncoise Tickel, Margeaux Winifred Tickel), Jason Eric Williams (Ami Gregory), and Matthew Stephen Tickel (Heather Tickel, Ellis Tickel). Donna Williams McMickell, Brittany Wilkes and Susie Avery. She is also survived by her sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tickel, Jason Williams, Matthew Tickel, Larry Tickel, Wayne Tickel, and Kyle Tickel.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Williams’s caregivers, Shirley Alston, Clara Loney, and Eva Deas, for the exceptional care and compassion they provided.
