Sumter, SC…. Felisa Garcia Gerecke, age 56, beloved wife of 37 years to Tracy Ray Gerecke, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at MUSC Medical Center.
Felisa was born in Tarlac, Philippines, the daughter of the late Bernardino T. Garcia and the late Rufina M. Maglaqui. Felicia was a tremendous Cubs fan. Her spirit will live on in every Cubs game, where her unwavering loyalty never faltered, even in the toughest seasons. She found peace by the water with a fishing pole in hand and could coax life from any plant she touched. Her garden, her kitchen, and her home were places filled with warmth and care. Family was her greatest joy, second to her faith and her love for the Lord. She embraced her roles as wife, mother, sister, and friend with a full and generous heart. Those who knew her will carry her memory with love and gratitude.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Dwight Gerecke and his wife Heather, Tracy Gerecke, Jr. and Brandon Gerecke; her daughter, Kayce Burkett and her husband Gabriel; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be arranged by the family and announced at a later date.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Grandma Rae, and her father-in-law, Grandpa Norm, and Uncle Tim.
