Gene Allen Weaver

Sumter, SC… Gene Allen Weaver, age 61, beloved husband of 18 years to Dorothy Lynn Kelly Weaver, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee, due to natural causes.

Allen was born in Sumter, SC, to the late Franklin Weaver and the late Dorothy Mixon on November 9, 1964. He married Dorothy Lynn Gainey on April 27, 2007. Allen cherished the peaceful moments spent at home, surrounded by the comfort of his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, nephew, and friend. His presence brought love to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Lynn Weaver, his daughter Danelle Gainey of Hartsville, and two stepsons, Gene Kelly and Ronnie Gainey, both of Hartsville; grandchildren, Lakin, Lily, and Kayleigh Gilbert of Hartsville, Gage Kelly and Dailen Gainey of Hartsville, Mikey Gainey of Hartsville and Grace Kelly of Hartsville; an aunt, Jeanette Mixon of Sumter and a cousin Dwight Mixon of Sumter.  

In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie Weaver and Michael Weaver, his granddaughter, Destiny Kelly, and his Grandson, Colt Kelly.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Bullock Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.

An interment will follow the service at Zoar Church Cemetery, located at 1315 Zoar Church Road, Sumter, SC 29153.
