Gordon Thomas Marus

Sumter, SC…. Gordon Thomas Marus, 73, beloved husband to Peggy Roberts-Marus. Gordon went on to be with the Lord on January 15, 2026, at his home. Gordon was born in Elizabeth, NJ, to George and Gloria Marus. He graduated from Rahway High School in 1970. Gordon was an Eagle Scout, Mason, and Shriner.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife Peggy Roberts-Marus are his brother David Marus (Dianne) of Florence, AZ. Three daughters, Jennifer Marus-Amerson (James) of Pinewood, Frances Hallman (Bobby) of Dalzell, SC, and Gloria Bryant (Clint) of Sumter, SC. One son, Kevin Wilkes (Mickie) of Sumter, SC. Five grandchildren, Lane (Sydney) and Seth Amerson, Melissa and Dylan Hallman, and Avery Bryant, and one soon-to-be great-grandson, August Lee Amerson.

Gordon was preceded in death by his late wife Carol Moessmang-Marus of 36 years and his parents, George and Gloria Marus, and one son, Brad Wilkes.

A Memorial Service will be held at Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 3:00 pm.

A visitation will be held at Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 pm.
