Sumter, SC…….. Hazel E. Pierson Wilson, age 97, widow of Frank B. Wilson, Jr., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at Pocotaligo River Health and Rehab.
Born on October 27, 1928, in the Providence community of Sumter County, SC, she was the middle daughter of the late George and Evie Osteen Pierson. She retired from Campbell Soup after a long employment. She began teaching Sunday School as a teenager, continuing until she could no longer plan and execute the lessons. Hazel was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church and was a member of Bethesda Church of God at the time of her passing. She never met a stranger, as was evident in her taking in so many military families as her own. Not only could she make anything grow and thrive, but she could make a meal out of anything. Having a passion for missions, she was given the gift of making and selling what is affectionately known as “Hazel bread”. She was the caregiver of the family, noting that she was the last of her siblings.
Survivors are: Two sons, Raleigh “Steve” Bramlette and his wife Joyce of Summerville, SC, and Paul “Andy” Bramlette and his wife Sandi of Rembert, SC; Two daughters, Elaine Faulling and her husband Floyd of Sumter, SC and Patricia Wilson of TN; 17 grandchildren, Amber, Darrell, Tonya, Rocky, Paul Adam, Brittney, Rett, Tonia, Rachel, Brook, Patrick, Sonny, Susan, Eddie, David, Brian and Amy; and at last count 22 great grandchildren.
