Sumter, SC……. Henry William Phillips Jr., a free spirit with a quirky sense of humor, passed away on July 23, 2024. Born on September 18, 1959, a son of the late Henry W. Phillips, Sr., and Ann Powers Phillips. Henry was known for his boundless love for animals and passion for motorcycles, surfing and rock music.
A master locksmith by trade, Henry was admired for his loyalty to his friends and his fervent interest in politics. His love of God, unique personality, and zest for life made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Henry is survived by his sister Suzanne P. Brooks of Sumter, his niece Cathy Brooks-Farmer and her husband Eddie of Sumter, and his great-nieces Mackenzie Machado and her husband Deyling of Rock Hill, and Abigail Farmer of Sumter.
His spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Henry’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of laughter, love and adventure will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 3:00pm in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
