Sumter, SC…… James Leo Regan, age 62, beloved husband of 25 years to Marie Elizabeth Bereza Regan, died on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of Mary Horan Regan McNeil and the late Kenneth Regan. James served in the USAF from 1984-1987, he briefly worked for Evans Cooling and Heating and was employed at Time Warner Cable dba Charter Communications. His mother Mary’s comments: James was a faithful son, unwavering and devoted with unconditional love to his wife, children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and would talk to everyone, he treated everyone he met with the most respect, no matter who they were. He always had a way of making people laugh. He loved all animals and considered our dogs, as kids with fur.
James was a living organ donor to his father-in-law Thomas Bereza on June 21, 2001.
He will be remembered as a loving, son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Marie and mother, Mary, he is survived by; two sons, Brendan and his wife Kayla Regan of Sumter, Adam and his wife Anisha Woodcock of Grand Rapids, MI; one daughter. Anne and her husband Alex Kish of Holland, MI; one brother, Matthew and his wife Michelle Regan of Holland, MI; two sisters, Robin and her husband Brian DuPuie of Mecosta, MI and Kelly and her husband Phil Smolyniski of Glen Mills, PA; sister-in-law, Catherine Bereza and her husband Dave Harden of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren, Logan Regan, Winston Regan and Lincoln Woodcock along with several nieces and nephews who loved him and he loved them dearly.
In addition to his father and son Thomas he is preceded in death by; a brother, Tom Regan and special friend, Don Pace.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 7:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Yoder officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
