Dalzell, SC… James A. Sullivan, age 86, husband of 59 years to Emiko Yoshida Sullivan, departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
He was born on January 12, 1934, in Magnolia, Mississippi and was the son of the late William Hurt Sullivan and Lou Ollie Ott Sullivan. James was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War, and was the proud recipient of both the Bronze Star Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. After leaving the military, he worked for Boeing International in Turkey.
In addition to his wife Emiko, he is survived by a son Gary Sullivan and his fiancée Tambra Young of Columbia S.C., grandson Christopher Brandon Parker and his wife Ashley Parker and their son Ethan Sullivan of Columbia, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. with Pastor Tommy McDonald officiating. The family will not be accepting visitors at this time.
