Sumter, SC…James “Jim” Anthony Zepko, age 82, beloved husband of the late Joan Diane Collins Zepko, died on Friday, June 4, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Ballston Spa, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph B. Zepko and Margaret Foley Zepko. Jim retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant with over 26 years of service. He enjoyed cars, especially hot rods. Jim was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Anne Catholic Church and he worked tirelessly to ensure the church was always taken care of.
Surviving are: two sons, Bryan A. Zepko and Greg Zepko and his wife Shannon all of Sumter; two sisters, Agnes Pompa and Annie Groski and her husband Ray all of New York; two sisters-in-law, Leah Zepko of Georgia and Marynell Collins of Prosperity; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bent and Margaret Peterson, and two brothers, Joseph Zepko and Patrick Zepko.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Geo Nunez officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
