Janet Scales Ali

Sumter, SC …. Janet Scales Ali, age 71, wife of the late Dr. Keramat M. Ali, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Harry Scales and Laura Heaton Scales.  Janet loved horses and was known to be very loving and giving.  She was passionate in her support of UNICEF.  Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by; three sons, Sayeed Ali of Sumter, Basset Ali and his wife Wendy of Sumter, and Iman Ali of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Joshua King and his wife Gaynelle, Jordan Ali, and Justin Ali, and a very special cousin, Nancy Mann of Louisville, KY.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 11:00-12:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.  A private family interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
