Janet H (Heriot) Brunson

Sumter, SC… Janet H. Brunson, age 85, beloved wife of the late John Dreyfus Brunson, died on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Mrs. Brunson was born in Sumter and was the daughter of the late Robie O. Heriot and Annie Stuckey Heriot. Her true love was spending time with her family. In her spare time, she volunteered with Tuomey where she crocheted hats for cancer patients. Mrs. Brunson was a faithful and dedicated member of Lemira Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: two children, Debbie L. Crandall and her husband Bill, and Roger G. Brunson and his wife Debbie all of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Jason Brunson and his wife Kim, Drey Brunson and his wife Brooke, Katie Plowden and her husband John, Travis Crandall, Megan C. Lybrand and her husband Rob, Trent Crandall, Tyler Crandall and his fiancée Ansley Ard, Ambra Hodge and her husband Dustin, and Tyler Christman and his wife Autumn; seven great grandchildren, Graylynn, Jax, Caroline Raye, Crandall, Rawlins, Karsten, and Maddux, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brunson was preceded in death by her husband; son, Johnny Brunson; three sisters, Sarah Weatherford, Marguerite Prescott, and Ruby Andrews; and three brothers, Robie Heriot, Jr., Marion Heriot, and John Heriot.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Rowton officiating. Interment will follow in the Brunson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Jason Brunson, Drey Brunson, Travis Crandall, Trent Crandall, Tyler Crandall, and Tyler Christman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Baker, Dustin Hodge, Rob Lybrand, John Plowden, and Dr. Kent Cunningham.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, 2023, one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the home of Debbie and Bill Crandall.
