Janice Ford Brock, age 65, beloved wife of 40 years to Charles Randal “Randy” Brock, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Born in Franklin Springs, GA, she was the daughter of the late Norman Ford and Annie Bell Bearden Ford. Janice attended Emmanuel College and then transferred to the University of Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She taught music in the public school system in both North Carolina and South Carolina where she was known to the children as “Solid as a Rock Mrs. Brock”. Janice also gave piano lessons to many students privately as well as serving many local churches as their pianist. Janice was a strong woman of faith and along with her husband, Randy, was an active member of Bethesda Church of God. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA as well as shopping, in particular thrift shopping. Her true passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her husband, Randy, she is survived by three sons, Andrew C. Brock of SC, Patrick F. Brock and his wife Samantha of Florence, SC, and Joshua R. Brock and his wife Chelsea of Dalzell, SC; one brother, John Ford of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Betty Ann Guthrie and her husband Randy of Tulsa, OK, Ruthie Cutrell and her husband Jeff of Cleveland, TN, Norma Gaye McDowell and her husband Marc of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Margie Ford Stowe of Carrollton, GA, and four grandchildren, Landon Brown, Charlotte Brock, Benjamin Brock, and Axel Brock.
