Jean (Gerrald) Sloan

Columbia, SC….. Jean Gerrald Sloan, age 86, beloved wife to the late Colonel Peter Lawrence Sloan, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at her home.

Jean was born in Conway, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late John Patrick Gerrald and the late Reba Lewis Gerrald. After graduating high school, she met the love of her life, Colonel Peter Lawrence Sloan. Together, they journeyed across the globe, living in several countries and embracing each adventure along the way. Of all the places they called home, Jean held a special fondness for Hawaii. A devoted military wife and a deeply loving mother, Jean’s warmth, strength, and grace touched everyone she encountered. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean is survived by her son, Stephen Lawrence Sloan and his wife Brandi of Dalzell, South Carolina, and her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Sloan of Jacksonville, Florida.

There will be a private entombment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
