Joann Tindall

Don't grieve for me, for I am free. I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard His call. I turned my back and left it all.

Beloved Joann Tindall, the daughter of the late Carrie Mae Tindall and the late Sinclair Rouse, Jr. was born November 7, 1968 in Sumter, South Carolina. She departed this life on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Joann accepted Christ at an early age when she joined Galliee Baptist Church in Mayesville, South Carolina. She continued her spiritual walk throughout her lifetime. She truly enjoyed worshipping and praising the Lord through prayer and songs. Joann made sure she taught her children and grandchildren how to pray and praise God.

Joann was a graduate of Maywood High School class of 1986. She was employed as a dispatcher at Alston Cab Company for many years and subsequently worked as a salesperson and seamstress at New York Hi-Style. Everyone that knew her, knew that her grands and nephews occupied her whole heart along with God. She enjoyed her prayer time, cooking, singing gospel music, and thoroughly cleaning.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joe Nathan Tindall. She leaves to cherish her loving memory one son, Joseph Sinclair Tindall, one daughter, Carrie Jolisa Tindall, her sisters; Gloria J. Tindall Scarborough, Ann Marie T. McCain, and Clara Mae Damon, all of Sumter, South Carolina; and one brother, Timothy (Patricia) Tindall of Sumter, South Carolina, aunts Dorothy Tindall of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Janie Nedd and Carrie Belle China both of Sumter, South Carolina, an uncle Truman Rouse ofSumter, South Carolina, a special friend, Pastor Vermell Humes; three grands; Jay'Vion Tjndall, Miracle Nickens, and Mj'yhna Nickens along with nine nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
