Joyce Y DuBose

Sumter, SC…Helen Joyce Young DuBose, age 78, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

Born in Kingstree, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Eugene Young and Fannie Orie Bingham Young.  Joyce worked and retired as an administrative assistant with Prisma Health Tuomey.  She loved gardening and traveling.  She was a strong woman of faith and was an active member of Bethesda Church of God.  Joyce was an incredible

family person and was dedicated to her children and grand children.  She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by; two sons, Neil DuBose and his wife Julie of Sumter and Taylor McNeil DuBose and his wife Amy of Asheville; two daughters, Amanda DuBose Goude of Summerville, SC and Rebekah Joyce Kontowsky and her husband Paul of Wellford, SC;  one brother, LaVaughn Young and his wife Sarah of Charleston; two sisters, Donnie Floyd and her husband Jimmy of Barrineau and Judy McAllister and husband Mickey of Beaufort, seven grandchildren, Hunter Goude, Rachel Goude, Zachary Kontowsky, Christian Kontowsky, Hayley DuBose, Walker DuBose and Evelyn DuBose and four great grandchildren, Nevaya, Aries, Ava and Sawyer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; three brothers, Therion Young, L.J. Young and William Young; three sisters, Betty Scott, Frances Strickland and Joann Welch.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Bethesda Church of God.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm, on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Bethesda Church of God.
