Keith Rucker Hyder

Wedgefield –Keith Rucker Hyder, age 79, beloved husband of fifty six years to Reba Baisden Hyder, died peacefully at home on January 28, 2021.

Born September 28, 1941, in Mill Springs, NC, he was a son of the late Hicks Rucker Hyder and Sara Elizabeth Foster Hyder. Mr. Hyder retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant after twenty years of service and worked for Sumter School District 2 for nineteen years. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR and traveling with his family. Mr. Hyder attended Wedgefield Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife: are his children, Brian Keith Hyder and his wife Eddy of Wedgefield, and Kimberly Hyder Gross and her husband Jason of Lexington; and four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Riley, Brittan, and Landon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Hyder.

A private graveside service will be held in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hyder.
