Kenneth James Morris

Sumter, SC………………… Kenneth James Morris, age 70, passed away on Friday, March 8th, 2024, at his home.

James was born in Sumter, SC, a son of the late Arthur Donald Morris and Margaret Morris. He left Sumter at an early age to join the Army, he served 30 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. After leaving the Army, James worked in Saudi Arabia, after a few years he returned to Sumter and worked at Advanced Auto Parts in Sumter and Manning. His failing health forced him into permanent retirement. James was full of lifetime stories and loved to tell them. He loved his country and all those who have served.

Survivors are: One son, Jeff Morris and his wife Angelica of Queen Creek, AZ; Two sisters, Donna Kay Morris and Sandra Brady and her husband Mike, all of Sumter; One sister-in-law, Jan Morris of Sumter, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Morris.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with military honors.  Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to the service.
