Ladea Barnes, born December 19, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, peacefully left this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unforgettable spirit. She was the beloved daughter of Raven Denise Evans and the late Redmond Brantley Barnes, who passed in 2012. Ladea’s life, though far too brief, was filled with joy, humor, and fierce loyalty.
On March 18, 2026, Ladea was tragically taken from us far too soon and unexpectedly. Ladea leaves behind her precious 9-month-old daughter, Zaylanii Barnes; her devoted brother, Christopher Shawn Evans; her loving mother, Raven Denise Evans; three aunts, Pamela Barnes, Tonya Barnes, Shekim Evans and Nakia Edna Evans; one uncle, Joseph Evans; and one uncle who preceded her in death, Daniel Jackson; as well as a host of cousins and close friends.
Her presence touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by countless friends, family members, and all who were blessed to experience her humor, honesty, and unwavering support.
Ladea was a shining star academically, attending Scotch Branch High School, making the honor roll every year, and graduating 3rd in her class. She had a passion for life that was contagious, whether she was doing her friend's hair, perfecting a makeup look, or making everyone around her laugh with her sharp wit. She was direct, hilarious, loving, loyal, and always ready to lift up those she cared about. There was never a dull moment when Ladea was in the room, and she had a way of making even ordinary days extraordinary. One of her greatest joys was coming home to Zaylanii, greeting her with a joyful, “I love you, my Buttercup!” a sound that will forever echo in the hearts of her family.
Ladea was also an active member of Sonrise International Faith Church in Summerton, South Carolina, where her faith, laughter, and kindness touched the lives of many. Ladea will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love will remain in our hearts always.
