Larry Scott Blanton

Dalzell, SC…………… Larry Scott Blanton, age 79, beloved husband of 57 years to Carol Shuford Blanton, died on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Blanton was born in Cleveland County, Shelby, NC, a son of the late Eura Blanton and Marsoline Beam Blanton. He lived in Shelby, NC, all his life and was a school teacher for over 30 years in the Cleveland County Schools. He loved golf, fishing and going to the beach.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: One daughter, Sheri Blanton Huettmann and her husband Christian of Dalzell, SC; Two sisters, Edris Melton and Margaret Greene, both of Shelby, NC; a sister-in-law, Mary Sue Blanton of Shelby, NC; Two grandsons, Jaxon Huettmann and Jarrett Huettman and his wife Katie; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at a later date in Shelby, NC.

The family would like to thank his caregiver, Sheka Toney of Indeed Care, for all her love and support.
