Sumter, SC….. Lee Morgan III, age 59, beloved husband of 32 years to Tracy Anna Duke Morgan, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his home.
Lee was born in Sumter, SC, a son of the late Roy Lee Morgan, Jr, and the late Stella Geannie Johnson. Lee was truly larger than life. As a child, his Nana and Big Daddy spoiled him rotten, and he enjoyed doing the same for the people he cared about. He’ll be remembered for his sharp wit and unforgettable sense of humor; if he picked on you, it was only because he loved you. He was a loyal friend who cherished his coffee club at Circle K during the week, and on weekends you could count on him being at the Piggly Wiggly or Porters with his ROMEO crew, Retired Old Men Eating Out. Lee loved racing boats and motorcycles and spending time outdoors, but nothing meant more to him than his family. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved spending time with. Lee brought joy to everyone he met; although he got eye rolls from some, he never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by all who have had the honor of knowing him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
In addition to his wife, Tracy Morgan, left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Brittany Moore and her husband Brandon “Brandy Michelle”, and Savannah Jaydee Morgan and her fiancé Austin; his bonus son Durand Bagwell and his wife Mollee; the best sister in the world, Dee “Punkin” Morgan Miller; and his grandchildren, Landon “Mutt”, Kinsley “Wit”, Jaxon “Spud”, and Sawyer “Lil’ Man”; and his best friend for many years, Bill Butler and his wife Bonnie, along with too many other friends to mention.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wonderful friend and neighbor, Ricky “Tater” Brunson, and his best friend, Jeff Bagwell.
Services will be announced at a future date.
