Leila Gertrude (Rogerson) Brown

Sumter…...Leila Gertrude Rogerson Brown, age 91, beloved wife of the late Richard Josh Brown, died on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Scott Rogerson and Fannie Lee Ammons Rogerson.  Gertrude loved doing arts and crafts and was an amazing seamstress.  She owned and operated her own seamstress shop, The Sewing House, for many years.  Her true joy in life was spending time with her family.  She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by; three daughters, Rebecca Gleaton and her husband William of Land O Lakes, FL, Emma Prosser and her husband Jamie of Clarendon County and Tammy Roberts and her husband Trent of Sumter; one sister, Louise Chandler of Sumter and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by; four sisters, Margaret Witherspoon, Eunice Holladay, Marie Russell and Mae DuRant and two brothers, Frank Rogerson and Tom Rogerson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Don Witherspoon officiating.
