Linda Gresham Hendrix

Sumter, SC…. Linda Gresham Hendrix, age 85, beloved wife of the late Kenneth N. Hendrix, died on Friday, May 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Tom Gresham, Jr. and Plennie Dixon Gresham. Linda worked in the healthcare system as a nurse for many years. She was a member of a bridge club, DAR, and the Pilot Club. She was a long-standing member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Wesley Bible Class. She loved her family and spending as much time with them as she could. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by; one son, David Michael Hendrix and wife Deborah of Columbia; one sister, Tommie Hammett and husband Richard of Lyman; two grandchildren, Maddison Caples, and Nicholas Hendrix; three great-grandchildren, Avery Garrison, Alana Geddings, and Conner Geddings; one nephew, Tate Flowers; two nieces, Tayler Flowers, and Tia Flowers; and her beloved fur babies, Petey and Abby.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by; her daughter, Angela Hendrix Porter.

 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating. The burial will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
