Loretta Sue Knepp

Sumter, SC…. Loretta Sue Knepp, age 78, beloved wife of the late Gilbert Knepp, died on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at her residence.

Born in Glenmary, TN, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Burton and Dolly Loy Burton. Loretta worked for and was a member of Shaw Heights Baptist Church for many years. She loved teaching Sunday School, and working with the kids. She also loved to read, and when she wasn’t reading she would be cheering on the Atlanta Braves and South Carolina Gamecocks. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by; one son, Samuel Knepp and wife Christin of Sumter, SC; one daughter, Karen Romuld and husband Randy of Sumter; one brother, Sonny Burton and wife Barbara of Oneida, TN; one sister, Tilda Bowling and husband Ronald of Sunbright, TN; and one grandson, Noah Romuld.

 A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 am at Shaw Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Robert White officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 am at Shaw Heights Baptist Church.
