Louis Keith Hurley, Sr.

Sumter, SC… Louis Keith Hurley, Sr., age 82, beloved husband of the late Barbara Jane Buddington Hurley, died on Friday, March, 5, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Montreal, MO, he was the son of the late Harry Keith Hurley, Sr. and Laura Martha Sumner Hurley.  Lou served his country proudly as a member of the Unites States Air Force, retiring after 24 years as a SMSGT.  He then worked for an additional 21 years as a civil service contractor at Shaw AFB.  During his time in Sumter, Lou was a member of the Hillcrest Masonic Lodge #397, Jamil Shrine Temple, Jamil Truckers Unit, Scottish Rite and the MRMA Retirees Club.  Lou was an avid bowler and loved spending time camping at the lake.  He loved life and people, especially his family.  Lou will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by: two sons, Mark Louis Hurley and his wife Jeannine of Annapolis, MD and Louis Keith Hurley, Jr. and his special friend, Vicki Dorak of Sumter; five grandchildren, Desirae Hurley, Mark Louis Hurley, Jr., Joey Hurley, Emmy Lou Hurley and Natalie Hendricks; two great grandchildren, Scarlet and Hazel and a lifelong friend and companion, Nellie Farley of Sumter and Princeton, W.VA.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by; one brother, Boyce Hurley and a daughter-in-law, Amy Elizabeth Hurley.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 7, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
