Lynn J. Boan

Deborah Lynn Boan of Sumter, SC, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 22, 2026.

Lynn was born on December 19, 1960, to LaVeda Rae (Sue) Jayroe and Richard LaBruce Jayroe. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael (Mike) Anthony Boan, and together they celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage.

Lynn was a devout Christian and a member of Sumter Methodist Church. She faithfully served as the Adult Coordinator at Aldersgate United Methodist Church for 22 years. Lynn dedicated her heart and soul to serving her community and was actively involved in numerous local programs, including the Aldersgate Pumpkin Patch and the Backpack Program for Willow Drive Elementary School, among many others. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by husband Mike Boan of Sumter, SC; son Matthew (Matt) Carson Boan, his wife, Tabitha, and their daughter, Lydia, of Portland, OR; daughter Allie Lynn Boan of Columbia, SC; and brother Richard (Rick) Arthur Jayroe of Alexandria, VA.

A memorial service will be held at Sumter Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 am.
