MSgt. Adam Wilke Peil, age 41, beloved husband of Katherine Elizabeth Morgan Peil, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026.

Adam was born in Rochester, New York, to Darrell Douglas Peil and Yvonne Lane Jurgens Peil. He graduated from Northwestern High School, where his lifelong commitment to service began as an active member of the Junior ROTC program. Inspired from a young age by a deep fascination with military aviation, Adam pursued his passion by enlisting in the United States Air Force in September 2007.  Upon completing Basic Military Training, he attended technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, specializing in F-16 Aircrew Egress Systems—a critical specialty dedicated to safeguarding the lives of combat pilots. At his first assignment, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Master Sergeant Peil quickly distinguished himself through his technical expertise, work ethic, and unwavering dedication to the mission. In 2011, he was assigned to Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, where his leadership and technical mastery continued to flourish. Throughout his distinguished career, MSgt Peil rose steadily through the ranks, serving in critical leadership positions, including Quality Assurance Inspector, F-16 Egress Systems Instructor, Production Superintendent, Operations Flight Chief, and Accessories Flight Chief. Throughout his service, Adam earned the utmost respect of his peers, superiors, and subordinates alike. His professionalism, work ethic, and commitment to excellence were recognized at the highest levels of the Department of Defense, including commendation from the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. More than his technical accolades, MSgt Peil will be remembered as a dedicated leader, mentor, and brother-in-arms who left an indelible mark on the United States Air Force and everyone who served alongside him.

No matter where he was stationed around the world, Adam carried South Carolina in his heart. He loved Clemson football, fishing, boating, rock crawling, playing in the mud, metalworking, woodworking, gardening, and caring for his pets. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. Adam was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend, someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine Elizabeth Peil; his parents, Darrell Douglas Peil and Yvonne Lane Peil; his daughters, Emory Riviere and Madilynn Riviere; his brother, Ethan Johnathan Peil of Rock Hill, SC; his sister, Sarah Catherine Peil of John’s Island, SC; his uncles, Robert Peil, Richard Peil, Christopher Peil, Keith Peil, Glenn Jurgens, and Mark Jurgens; his aunts, Mary Purtle and Kimberly Peil; his great aunt, Joyce Haecker; his in-laws, Edwin Curtis Morgan and Susan Lynn Morgan; his sister-in-law Jennifer Suzanne Grimes, and many extended family.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors to follow.
