Mary Catherine McRae Craft
September 15th, 1955- July 4th, 2026
Longs, SC…..Mary Catherine, affectionately called, “Cathy”, passed peacefully at her daughter's home on July 4th, 2026. She was 70 years old.
Cathy was born on September 15th, 1955, in Dillon County. She was the daughter of the late Harold Winfred “Snow” McRae and Annie Laurie Warren McRae. And younger sister to the surviving Dianne McRae.
Cathy spent the majority of her life in Dillon County. However, for her college years, she attended Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated with a degree in Fashion Retail. As a result, she owned several businesses in her lifetime including The Snooty Hooty and Little Annie’s.
In 1977, she met her husband, William Randolph “Randy” Craft at the famed Fat Jack’s bar in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As they stayed devoted to each other, they married in Dillon County in 1982 at First Presbyterian Church. Together, they built a life in North Myrtle Beach and were co-owners of The Land of Oz daycare on Main Street. And in 1989, they relocated back to Dillon County.
While living in Dillon, she was known for her keen design ability while operating Little Annie’s and Teneil’s Treasures. Cathy had an incredible eye for interior design and decorating. She was the person everyone turned to for advice, inspiration, and creative ideas. Whether it was transforming a room, choosing the perfect decor, or making a house feel like home, she had a natural talent that made every space beautiful and welcoming. Her creativity and passion left a lasting impression on everyone that knew her.
In 1999, the family returned to North Myrtle Beach, SC. Cathy took a job with Horry County Council on Aging, where she ran a senior center. She found joy in helping seniors stay active and moving throughout the community. She played an impactful part of many seniors’ lives as they lived their final days.
Cathy never met a stranger. She had a kind and caring heart, and everyone who crossed her path was made to feel welcomed and valued. She had an incredible knack for remembering even the smallest details, a gift that never ceased to amaze those around her. Her compassion, warmth and unwavering support touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, William Randolph “Randy” Craft and her daughters, Annie Laurie Craft Tucker (Justin) and Mary Elizabeth Craft (Trevor Kelly). As well as her three grandsons, Clyde William Kelly, Conner Snow Kelly, and Cain Tucker Kelly. She is also survived by her older sister, Dianne McRae and two nieces she was incredibly close to, Laurie Ann Wellington Turner, and Carla Wellington Frye. Not to mention, multiple nieces and nephews on the Craft side of the family, and many great nieces and great nephews.
