Mary Degen Obituary

Sumter, SC…Mary Sue Parnell Degen, age 93, beloved wife of the late Vincent Joseph Degen, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Miston, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Atrina Oneil Parnell. Mrs. Degen was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Jerome B. Degen of Sumter and Phillip G. Degen of Springfield, VA; two daughters, Teresa A. Degen of Columbia and Barbara Brown of Sumter; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Degen.

A private graveside service will be held in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
