Sumter, SC………………… Mary Ann Allgood Buckner, age 82, beloved wife of 67 years to Herbert Thomas Buckner, died on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at NHC Healthcare of Sumter.
Mary was born in Hastings, NE, a daughter of the late William Guy Allgood and Eleanor Lucille Sherman Allgood. She was a dedicated housewife who also worked as an LPN at Hopewell Nursing Home for 4 years. She enjoyed genealogy, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors are: Three daughters, Cindy Fortier of Sumter, SC, Mary York and her husband Jim of Lexington, SC, and Lisa Butler and her husband Bert of Lexington, SC; One sister, Susan Young; One brother, David Allgood; Nine grandchildren, Jason Davis, Megan Fortier, Jessica Buvinghausen, Kelli Broadus, Kaila Butler, Nathan Lyles, Joshua Fortier, Jimmy York and Jordan York; and Nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Marie Goings.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at 11:00am at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
