Mellissa Hoffman Poole

Mayesville, SC…Mellissa Hoffman Poole, age 47, beloved wife of 21 years to Douglas Eugene Poole, died on Monday, March 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

Born January 18, 1977, in Swansea, SC, she was the daughter of Frederick Hoffman and Norma Chavis. She enjoyed being active in her church and listening to Gospel music. Mrs. Poole also loved her trips to the mountains with her friends and family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by; two daughters, Maylen Griffin and her husband Rusty, and Brittany Gibson and her husband Ned; three sons, Tanner Pruitt and his wife Kaitlin, Chris Devine, and DJ Poole; mother and father-in-law, Linda and Albert Poole; three sisters-in-law, Tammy  Poole Anderson and husband Dougie, Robin Poole Player and husband David, and Robin Hoffman; and ten grandchildren, Ryler Griffin, Caroline Devine, Brynli Devine, Brayden Devine, Felicity Poole, Serenity Poole, Chase Poole, Autumn Gibson, Ayden Gibson, Asher Gibson, and soon to arrive Beaujackson Pruitt.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Frederick Hoffman, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at Jefferson Road Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. GG. Gene Gilbert and Rev. Rusty Conyers officiating.

A second memorial service will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church, 648 St. Mathews Road, Swansea, SC with Rev. H. Larry Jones officiating.
