Sumter, SC………… Michael Dennis Lumley, age 70, beloved husband of 45 years to Sarah Brown Lumley, died on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at his home.
Mr. Lumley was born in Sherman, TX, a son of the late Gerald Carl Lumley and Barbara Sasser Lumley. He served 3 years in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Michael was a successful business owner and entrepreneur for over 40 years. He loved fishing, going to the mountains, playing chess, playing Secret Santa every Christmas Eve and was proud to say he was a former Nascar driver. Michael was a proud husband, father, grandfather and family man.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: Three daughters, Cristy Lowder and her husband Jay of Manning, SC, Elizabeth Lumley and her partner Rick Weldon of Charleston, SC, and Jamie DaRif and her husband Brett of San Antonio, TX; One brother, Jimmy Lumley and his wife Nicole of Sumter, SC; Four grandchildren, Jaycob Lowder and his wife Courtney, Justin Lowder, Payton DaRif and Brayden DaRif; Two great grandchildren, Railynn Lowder and Grayson Lowder; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
