Michell (Coker) Copeland

Sumter, SC…Michell Coker Copeland, age 63, beloved wife of 20 years to Jack William Copeland, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Bobby Earl Coker and Linda Pitts Coker.  Michell was a strong woman of Christian faith and attended St. Mark United Methodist Church.  She was an excellent cook who loved to work in her garden and was known to be able to fix anything.  Michell loved all animals but her true joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons.  She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Will, she is survived by a son, Bobby Coker and his wife Markie of Lexington, SC; two brothers, Robby Coker and his wife Julie and Michael Coker, all of Sumter; and two grandsons, Harper Coker, and Landon Coker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Copeland Day and her brother-in-law, John DeWayne Copeland.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wes Conner officiating.  A private family interment will follow the service in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held, one hour prior to the service, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
