Across your area, an individual impersonating a funeral home employee is contacting families and demanding payment over the phone. Please know that we will never call you and ask for payment over the phone. Do not give the caller your information or money! Hang up and call the police. And if you're ever unsure about anything to do with your loved one, please call the funeral home and speak with your funeral director.

Rajen Patel, 43, of Sumter, South Carolina, entered into the presence of the Lord on May 21, 2026.
Born on October 17, 1982, Rajen spent nearly his entire life in Sumter, where he became a familiar and beloved presence in the community. For more than 20 years, he worked in jewelry sales, remaining a steady and welcoming face through changing store owners, store names, and even changes to the mall itself. Customers and coworkers alike remember Rajen not simply for his professionalism, but for his warmth, kindness, and the genuine care he showed to every person he met. To many, seeing Rajen’s smile was one of the constants of their day.
Rajen was a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life and love for others. He will be remembered most for his innocent spirit and the genuine care he showed to people from all walks of life.
He is lovingly survived by his parents, Sureshkumar (Sudhir/Sam) Patel and Ilaben Patel; his brother, Viren Patel; his sister-in-grace, Sweta Patel; and his grandfather, Natvarbhai Patel.
We welcome all to Rajen’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at International Family Church, 1311 Marley Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Rajen’s life, a fundraiser has been established at GoFundMe.com/RajenPatel.
