Reita Dean (Anderson) Dell

Sumter, SC…............. Reita Dean Anderson Dell, age 84, departed this life on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at National Healthcare of Sumter.

Mrs. Dell was born on May 20, 1938, in Washington County, PA, the daughter of the late Otto Frank & Ethel Irey Anderson. Reita was educated in the Washington County school system, graduating from Bentleyville High School in 1956. She attended several medical courses while in PA. She worked in the medical field most of her life; she retired after 19 years of service with Tuomey Healthcare Systems to care for her ailing mother. Reita also taught Phlebotomy courses for Central Carolina Technical College and professional training in the Sumter area. Reita was of the Protestant faith and had 2 favorite hymns, “Just As I am” and “Amazing Grace”. She also had many interests including oil painting on canvas, sewing, doing crafts and she was an avid collector of Santa Claus items. She loved the Christmas season, saying people were more kind and friendlier. She also liked to collect antiques and antiquing.

Survivors are: One daughter, Rnita L. Carneal and her husband Robert of Sumter, SC; and two beautiful grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth and Ian Montgomery Carneal, both of Sumter, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Anderson.

Services will be private.
