Sumter, SC…..Robert Thomas Clark, age 31, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in his hometown of Sumter.
Robert was born in Bakersfield, California to Virgil Clark and the late Mary Newquist. He was a beloved member of the Richards family for 16 years and considered a son to Robert and Megan Richards.
Robert proudly served over seven years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Sergeant with honor and dedication. Beyond his service, he was a passionate enthusiast of cars and motorcycles. At home, his greatest joy came from the companionship of his beloved pets, Binx and Luna, who were never far from his side. Robert will be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his birth father and adoptive parents, Robert is survived by a sibling; Jennifer Panelli of Los Angeles, CA; his brother, Matthew Richards; his sister, Samantha Richards; his sibling, Allen Richards; grandparents, Christie and Bill Emery of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a grandfather, Manning Richards of Sumter; his special aunt and uncle Jennifer and Gary Chapin, as well as numerous other aunts and uncles; and his boyfriend, Mark Endriss.
In addition to his birth mother, Robert is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as his adoptive grandmother, Cecilia Richards.
A remembrance will be held on Sunday, July 27th from 1-4pm at Ricochet Range 1410 Hwy 15 S, Sumter SC 29154, lunch will be provided.
