Sumter, SC…..........Rosemarie Groth McLeod, beloved wife of 67 years to James O. McLeod, died peacefully on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at her home.
Mrs. McLeod was born in Germany, a daughter of the late Wilhelm Karl August Groth and Irene Suhr Groth. She had many hobbies to include, cooking, gardening, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, bowling, swimming, slot machines, soap operas, going to the beach and loved her Gamecocks and hiding money and sweets from her husband. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Rosemarie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: Two sons, Leroy McLeod and his fiancé Linda Shingara of Post Falls, Idaho, and Douglas McLeod of Sumter, SC; One sister, Anneliese Monz of Eppelborn, Germany; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, James W. McLeod.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Stines officiating.
