Samuel Nathan Penland

Sumter, SC………………. Samuel Nathan Penland, age 84, beloved husband of 65 years to Sandra Meadors Penland, died on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Penland was born in Laurens, SC, a son of the late Charles Penland and Beulah Rector Penland. He was an avid Gamecock fan, car racing fan and loved all sports. Samuel will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew him.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: One son, Alan Clark Penland of Sumter, SC; Two daughters, Laurie Christine Skidmore of Clinton, SC, and Michelle Epperly and her husband Mark of Simpsonville, SC; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Debbie Mulqueen and Brenda Shelton; and a special family friend, Mike Watcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Samuel Penland, Jr.

Services will be private.
