Sandra Lynn (Worrell) Dukes

Sumter, SC… Sandra Lynn Worrell Dukes, age 64, beloved wife of the late Moses Dukes, Jr., died Tuesday, January 16, 2023, at her residence.

Born in Kingsville, TX, she is the daughter of the late James Worrell and Alice Carter Worrell. Sandra was raised in Jacksonville, FL where she obtained her Associates degree in business. She later moved to Sumter, SC with her husband Moses, where they would settle down to raise their family; she started a successful water company (Nature’s Owned Distributors), where Sandra would eventually retire. She loved music, joking around, and playing spades. Sandra was a member of the Church of The Holy Comforter. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Nicholas Dukes of Sumter, SC, and Kenneth Dukes of Columbia, SC;  three daughters, Savannah (David) Gloria of San Diego CA, Andrea (Lorenzo Sr.) McCray of Columbia, SC, and Pamela (Baron Sr.) Harvin of Columbia, SC; one daughter in law, Trenay Dukes of Columbia, SC and eight grandchildren, Mikaelah Gloria, Kaelani Gloria, Lorenzo McCray Jr., LaRhonda Sparrow, Torah Sanders, Kenai Major, Kenneth Dukes Jr., and Baron Harvin II; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jillian Dukes of Sumter, SC; and two sisters, Patricia Jones (Steve) of Jacksonville, FL, and Puff Carter of Jacksonville, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Greenhaven Preserve, 1701 Vanboklen Road, Eastover, SC 29044.
