Sara Ellen Carroll

Sumter, SC…. Sara Ellen Carroll, age 76, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at her home.

Sara was born in Rockhill, SC, a daughter of the late Alva McArthur, Jr. and the late Betty Hardin. She led a life centered around service and kindness. She was dedicated to her faith and her family. She was a devoted military wife of over 21 years. She loved to research genealogy, and it was a long-loved hobby that connected her to her past. Sara will be remembered for her giving nature and her big heart. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Sara is survived by her brothers, William Pittman and Ray Pittman; her sisters, Vicki Rast, Terry Dean, and Barbara Pittman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie Pittman and Buddy Pittman.
