Stephanie Bradham Obituary

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Stephanie had a beautiful spirit and a big heart. She could be funny without trying, her sense of humor was infectious, and she loved being close to her husband Mitch, her children Mackenzie, Allison & Mitchell and her extended family, as well as her many close friends. Stephanie was talented, she was very athletic and accomplished. During her career as a gymnast, she was awarded many medals with her greatest feat of winning second place in All Around at the NY State competition. Stephanie had an artistic eye, although she never thought so, she had an amazing eye for color and her perspective on things were quite unique. Her daughter Mackenzie follows in her footsteps with a great passion for drawing. Stephanie’s had a passion for animals too. With dogs and cats her main love, but if given a chance a few stray critters would have found their way into her loving care. If Stephanie had her way, she’d have had the biggest animal sanctuary ever. Her life unfortunately was also filled with pain and anxiety. It stealthily crept into her life early on. But she fought her demon’s day by day, hours by hour, minute by minute, the path to health and happiness was long, narrow and winding with many bumps and forks. Today her journey has ended to short but know that she has finally found that long unattained peace and is above in heaven with those family members and friends who have gone before her.

Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband Mitchell Ellis Sr, her daughters Mackenzie Nicole, Allison Taylor, her son Mitchell Ellis Jr, her mother Karen (Cheney) Hakala, her stepfather Philip Hakala, her father William “Rudy” Winters, her stepmother Patricia (LaMorte) Winters, her sister Danielle Winters, her brother Christopher John Hakala, her step brother Danial Hakala, her sisters Jennifer (Winters) Lampert, Nicole Winters, her Grandmother Marie Louise Winters, her nephews Tyler Winters and Jackson Mitchell, and many aunts, uncles and cousins Stephanie was born on June 26, 1978, at Peekskill Community Hospital, in Westchester County NY.

She moved to Fishkill, Dutchess County NY with her sister and Mother in 1980. Stephanie went to Fishkill Elementary, Wappinger Falls Jr High and graduated from John Jay High School. Stephanie moved to Myrtle Beach SC in 1999, where she met her husband to be, Mitchell Bradham. They married at Mitchell’s parent’s home In Sumter SC on September 2, 2000. They moved to Sumter shortly after the marriage where they currently resided.
