Across your area, an individual impersonating a funeral home employee is contacting families and demanding payment over the phone. Please know that we will never call you and ask for payment over the phone. Do not give the caller your information or money! Hang up and call the police. And if you're ever unsure about anything to do with your loved one, please call the funeral home and speak with your funeral director.

Talmadge Carl Riddick, beloved husband of Victoria Cromwell Riddick, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey after a long and courageous battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma.
He was born on September 11, 1962, to the late Thomas R. Riddick and Hilda Nissen Riddick in Bitburg, Germany. He graduated a year early from Hillcrest High School in 1979 and entered the workforce. He worked in construction for David Nix Construction Company. He left construction for the retail business. He was a manager for Family Dollar, a route salesman for Keebler Cookies, and Interstate Brands. He worked for Interstate Brands until 2007, when he was medically retired due to a work-related accident. It was at that time he received the best job title of stay-at-home dad.
His passion was spending time with his family. From coaching baseball to watching Citadel parades, he was his children’s biggest cheerleader. His hobbies included spending time with his children, hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching football and NASCAR racing. He loved watching each of his children play their respective sports: baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, and tennis. He loved designing and planning flower beds in his yard, and he anxiously awaited the return of hummingbirds each spring. His favorite pastime of all was rocking babies in the church nursery, where he was affectionately known as Mr. T, the Baby Whisperer.
His faith was central to who he was. He was a hugger and made sure to encourage those around him to always be kind and be someone’s blessing. He was a member of Harmony Church in Sumter, where he served in the nursery and in the Greeter Ministry until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, the late James O. Cromwell and Bonnie J. Cromwell, and his brother Wayne G. Riddick.
Surviving him are his wife of almost 22 years and his children: Christopher L Riddick, Talmadge C. Riddick Jr., Thomas J. Riddick, Madison A. Hodge, Jacob B. Hodge, and Gabriel W. Riddick, and seven grandchildren. His sister, Tommi Wilkins (John), brother, Michael Riddick (Tessa), sisters-in-law Gail Riddick, Kathy Cromwell (Kenda), Pamela Foote, and brother-in-law Jim Cromwell. Along with several nieces and nephews.
