Terry Lynn Burgess

Sumter, SC…Terry Lynn Burgess, age 62, beloved wife of  28 years to the late Tony Burgess, died on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at her home in Sumter, SC.

Born May 10, 1961, in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of Judy Welch McClam and the late David E. Green. Terry was an avid fisherman and she loved being on the boat at the lake. She also enjoyed camping and spending time in the outdoors. She loved all animals, especially her three dogs. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a very loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Brandon L. Burgess of Sumter, SC; four brothers, Alex Green and his wife Annette of Wedgefield, SC, Derrick McClam and his wife Chassity of Sumter, SC, Mark Broach and his wife Sharon of Walterboro, SC, and David Green Jr. of New Zion; one sister, Wendy Evans of New Zion, SC; three grandchildren, Abbigail McLeod, Tony Burgess, Levy Burgess; one great-grandchild, Banks Brown, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles, and other extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony Griffin officiating.
