Across your area, an individual impersonating a funeral home employee is contacting families and demanding payment over the phone. Please know that we will never call you and ask for payment over the phone. Do not give the caller your information or money! Hang up and call the police. And if you're ever unsure about anything to do with your loved one, please call the funeral home and speak with your funeral director.

Gilbert, SC......Vernard Ashton (Buck) Mooneyhan, Jr. was born in Manning, son of the late Vernard Ashton Mooneyhan, Sr. & Margaret Theresa Epperson Mooneyhan. Buck was a self-employed marine contractor for his business, Advanced Docks LLC, building docks on Lake Murray since the early 80’s. Buck loved music. He sang and played harmonica for years in his blues band, Sanctuary Blues Band, and in the duo, Moon Pi. He loved to jam and collaborate with other musicians. His favorite times were when he played his harmonica for the Lord, on the worship team at church, and for other churches and special events. He especially loved his years playing annually for Christmas at Red Bank and Christmas on The Mount. He had many hobbies over the years which included kayaking, boating, mountain bike riding, bird watching, astronomy, film noir movies, and camping. But most of all, he loved being a father and husband. As he would say, it was “the best thing that ever happened in his life”. His daughters, Savannah Marie Mooneyhan & Emily Madigan Mooneyhan, were his world. He smiled every time he talked about them. He said raising his daughters was the best gift ever.
Rhonda Marie Mooneyhan was the love of his life, and wife of 9 years. They literally did everything together: live, love, work, worship, play music, camp, travel, concerts, finding cool new eating spots, boating…everything. The love was special, and everyone around them recognized it. A special love indeed.
Buck is survived by his wife, his 2 beautiful daughters, and his 2 brothers Robert David Mooneyhan and Michael Bryant Mooneyhan, both of Atlanta, GA.
