Vincent Fabbio Obituary

Sumter, SC .......... Vincent Richard “Skip” Fabbio, age 80, beloved husband of 31 years to Carol McKnight Fabbio, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the WBJ Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC.

Born in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late Vincent Vito Fabbio and Anne Cirasunda Fabbio.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War for four years. After his military service, Skip built a long and successful career in the automotive industry, where he became a mentor to many of the young men and women he worked with—offering guidance, encouragement, and wisdom that left a lasting impact.

A devoted fan of baseball, Skip especially loved the Atlanta Braves, though he could enjoy any game, regardless of who was playing. He also cheered for the Buffalo Bills with unwavering loyalty. His love of the outdoors was reflected in his passion for horseback riding, whether on easy trail rides or in competitive events, as well as his enjoyment of golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Skip loved his family above all things. He was a very generous, loving, and giving husband, father, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Carol, surviving to cherish his memories are his son, Richard Fabbio of Utica, NY; his daughter, Michelle Fabbio and her partner, Frank Marino of Utica, NY; two brothers, James Fabbio of Fort Smith, AK, and Joe Fabbio of Baldwinsville, NY; three grandchildren, Anthony DelGuidice, Cinello Denigro, and Isabella Morse,  a great-granddaughter, Amber Walsh, and his two faithful companions, his dogs, Lady and Suzy Q.
