Wendy Sue (Shannon) Knutson

Wendy Sue Shannon Knutson, age 59, beloved wife of 34 years to Gary Lee Knutson Jr., died on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Grafton, ND, she was the daughter of Sandra Bessire Wosick and the late Duane Charles Shannon.  A strong woman of faith, Wendy Sue loved the Lord.  She attended Sumter Baptist Temple and, most recently, Open Bible Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of the North Dakota State University Veterinary Technology Studies.  Wendy Sue was a devoted Air Force wife and has always fiercely supported the military.  She loved animals, especially her cats.  She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a brother, Brian Shannon of Salol, MN, and an uncle, Gary Shannon of Hoople, ND.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
