Sumter, SC…… Wesley Phillip Hayden, age 62, died on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Hayden was born in Hartsville, SC, a son of the late Garls Harley Hayden and Neta Brown Hayden. Phillip loved to fish and enjoyed food and family gatherings. He did tree work most of his life and also worked in television repair. Phillip never met a stranger, to know him was to love him. He graduated from Sumter High School and attended Central Carolina Technical College. He attended Walker Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors are: Two sons, Stephen Kyle Hayden and Aaron Michael Hayden, both of Sumter, SC; Two grandchildren, Stephen Kyle Hayden, II of Sumter, SC and Kylee Jade Hayden of Huntersville, NC; Two brothers, Buck Hayden and his wife Barbara and Steve Hayden and his wife Donna, all of Sumter, SC; Five sisters, Pam Hayden of Burlington, NC, Sharon Hayden of Burlington, NC, Joye Miller of Norfolk, VA, Marie Hodge of Detroit, MI, and Rhonda Hodge and her husband Ronnie of Sumter, SC; a sister in law, Pam Norton Hayden of Sumter, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Chris and Rachel Yarborough and Joel and Beth Wooten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rodney Hayden and a sister, Teresa Hayden.
The memorial service scheduled for January 24, 2026, has been postponed to a later date due to the weather.
