Across your area, an individual impersonating a funeral home employee is contacting families and demanding payment over the phone. Please know that we will never call you and ask for payment over the phone. Do not give the caller your information or money! Hang up and call the police. And if you're ever unsure about anything to do with your loved one, please call the funeral home and speak with your funeral director.

William Burke Harrington, beloved husband of sixty-two years to Rosann Harrington, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his residence. Born in the Bronx, New York, Bill grew up in Floral Park, Long Island. A gifted athlete, he pitched (southpaw) for Hofstra University, where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in history before joining the Army. Bill met and married the love of his life, Randi, in Seoul, Korea. After obtaining his master’s degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C., he embarked on a career in Army Intelligence, with most of his service spent overseas including Bolivia, Vietnam (combat), El Salvador, Germany (Heidelberg), Panama, and Turkey (Izmir). Honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Colonel after thirty-one years of service, Bill was a recipient of the Legion of Merit and two Bronze stars, one with valor. Bill retired to Pawley’s Island to play golf (he made five holes-in-one) and to travel with Randi. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children: William Burke Harrington, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale , FL; Anne Brooks Harrington of Seattle, WA; Thomas Ryan Harrington (Michelle) of Parkland, FL; and five grandsons, William Burke Harrington III, John Charles Harrington, James Bradley Harrington, Joseph Ryan Harrington, and Connor Ryan Harrington. He was preceded in death by his son Terrence Ryan Harrington and sister Katherine Mary Harrington. The family would like to thank Adea, Betty, and the entire Prisma Hospice Team; Stephanie and Shayla from Addus Home Care, Inc.; Suzette from Senior Helpers, for their compassionate support and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family requests privacy at this time. Internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
